Preamble:
The eclipse cycles trigger waves of energy that influence all of us internally and externally. The imprint of energy as captured by the chart calculated for any eclipse, tends to get carried forward in time on a wave for about 6 months, and so makes for a useful method of forecasting.
All eclipses represent a break in the normal transmission of light from the sun, and that means the transmission of spiritual information received at the soul level of our beingness. For me the eclipses represent changes and shifts in the way our self-realisation process unfolds, keeping us in tune with our pre-intended life-purpose prior to incarnation. In essence, eclipse energy imbues us with an impulse, which when acted upon makes us feel like we are on track, energised, and purposeful. How this affects us in detail can only be determined by cross-referencing with a natal birth chart, but we can look to the overall themes to see how the world in general will be influenced, to give us a sense of the psychic weather patterns shaping things over time.
A solar eclipse takes place during a new moon, so it can be viewed as an enhanced new moon. Not only can we receive Higher-Self seed impulses for the coming month, we also can receive awareness that alters our growth path, or new lessons can be initiated, which will carry beyond the month over a 6 month period of time.
To begin with…
A solar eclipse always occurs at the new moon, and we can think of it as an enhanced new moon imbued with both the renewal energies of the new moon and the powerful adjustment energies that come with an eclipse.
Now begins a new lunar cycle of psycho-spiritual development, initiating new growth themes, which will build throughout the coming year. This solar eclipse in Aries occurs 9 days after the March equinox, where typically there is always an upthrust of energy moving outward, stimulating a birth of new growth impulses.
Aries energy is energetic, optimistic, open to change and new adventures, and tends to energise the desire function, seeding new desire impulses, which begin to move us into new experiences beyond the pre-existing patterns we know.
Higher-Self guidance will most likely ignite a longing for something more, in ways that draw us into new experiences of one kind or another. For some of us this might be as simple as taking up a new hobby, while for others it can coincide with sizeable shifts in the way we go about life.
This new moon energy initiates a month where we may ask of ourselves what we want next, or go deeper to figure out what we really want. There may be an urgency to take action and to move toward dreams and desires, as the energy motivates us to step forward in some way.
So pay attention to the spontaneous visions and inspirations to be or do something else, and try and give them legitimate space to be part of your process, even if they seem initially unrealistic or out of your usual pattern. Not all emergent desire impulses are meant to manifest; at this stage of the energy cycle, it is sufficient to cultivate a neutral openness to whatever arises.
The Aries Solar Eclipse marks the completion of the energies initiated by the Lunar Eclipse in Virgo two weeks ago; these two energy waves now begin to alchemise throughout the next 6 months. The personal growth work now channels through the Virgo themes associated with purification, grounded sacred ritual, and healing. The path to greater self-realisation now runs through the Aries archetype infusing the evolutionary process, especially relating to life path and purpose, with the courageous impulse to break the patterns of the past, initiate new life directions, stand up for one’s individual way of becoming, and innovate, pioneer or discover through radically new experiences.
There is something quite compelling about the coincidence of the Aries New Moon, which always initiates a new personal growth cycle for the coming year, with the potent, somewhat chaotic and auspicious nature of the solar eclipse. It suggests that there is a quality in this new moon cycle renewal that energises sudden shifts, breaks or changes from the normal pattern of what has come before. This Solar Eclipse Wave, I feel, is going to enhance a capacity to move forward in some areas of our lives, and adds a defining quality to this year of personal growth and development, now leading us more boldly into new life territory; the energies will be more propulsive, fast and spontaneous.
The real question right now is: what are we ready for?
We may not know yet, but this is the essence of this lunation; to entertain new ideas and new life directions.
Like the recent equinox chart, the chart for the Aries Solar Eclipse is punctuated by several key conjunctions and considerably fewer aspects (which is not so usual). There is a high focus of energy in the signs of Pisces and Aries, emphasising a threshold between completion and new beginnings. Let’s take a deeper look at the archetypal themes on offer this month…

We are on a threshold of more change

In recent years it has felt like humanity is undergoing a rebirth reaching deep into society and culture, and personal process has felt very much like moving through a birth canal; there is consistent evolutionary pressure, constriction, movement, metamorphosis, fear, excitement, a feeling of being stuck or trapped, frustration, and urgency all mixed together!
Some of us are not handling this process very well, losing the plot, and resorting to violence as a way to release the pressure e.g. shootings and knife crime etc. Others are going through the shadow expressions within relationships, or solo through disillusionment and depression, and yet others are launching into deep radical change in their lives both physically and spiritually.
The Aries Solar Eclipse chart, which shows us something about the new energies initiating for the coming year, is overall marked by the energy of archetypal conjunctions, and as mentioned above, a focus on the first and last signs of the zodiac, Aries and Pisces.
A preponderance of planets in a sign indicates more energy dedicated to that sign, and this then gives us a sense of a threshold between the past and the future, and the continuing sense of stepping into new pathways of becoming, while also tasked with finishing up old lessons and bringing some stories to an end. [Pisces is the last sign of culmination, Aries is the first sign of inception and birth]
Conjunctions are very powerful alchemical alignments, when two archetypal energies merge temporarily in a sign and effectively rebirth. Each planetary pair represents a natural evolutionary cycle, and so conjunctions also represent completions and new beginnings.
The overarching theme of new beginnings, juxtaposed by karmic forces demanding completion, has been weaving in and out of my forecast readings since March 2023, when we had two consecutive Aries new moons in the same year (a rare event) coinciding with Pluto’s first ingress into Aquarius (marking the beginning of a change in evolutionary direction), and the recent ingress of Manwë into Aries, infusing the equinoctial energies with a strong spiritual impulse toward change for several years to come.
This year, the theme continues to reflect in the charts, but with the nodal axis now recently moved into Pisces-Virgo, I think we are now approaching the end of the “birth canal process”, but the implication is that the challenge of birthing new personal realities will continue throughout the coming year.
Change is indeed upon us: Pluto is now fully in Aquarius for the next 20 years, Neptune currently at 29˚ Pisces will imminently ingress into Aries (tomorrow) marking the beginning of a renewal of the Neptunian evolutionary cycle, which I cover in more detail in an earlier post Neptune in Aries.
Saturn is now in the last decan of Pisces, moving steadily toward culmination and rebirth into Aries on May 25th 2025, marking yet another significant shift in the energy moving into new growth cycles. The Saturn in Pisces period, which started in March 2023, when as mentioned above, we had two consecutive Aries new moons, indicated that much of the work at that time was to take responsibility to finish up culminating lessons, even while some of our old structures may have been dissolving away, or we felt encumbered by encroaching confusion and meaninglessness.
The upcoming Saturn in Aries period will put the work more firmly into new initiatives, breaking free finally from the past, and an emphasis on self-assertion and individuation. The Saturn in Aries cycle, although starting in May this year, won’t fully stabilise until Feb 2026, and will continue through until Apr 2028. Saturn in particular tends to strongly influence the tangible structures of our lives, so a renewal like this can bring significant manifest changes to the patterns of daily life.
Any frustration we may have in our personal lives, where we may feel stuck, trapped or limited, has much to do with this straddling of two different frequency ‘spaces’; the old frequency we are trying to complete, and the new frequency we are drawn to anchor through the body and establish.
The frequency ladder of Ascension

Central to the Aries New Moon chart is a tense T-Square aspect featuring the New ‘eclipsed’ Moon conjunct Salacia opposing Makemake, with Quaoar and Pholus at the apex. This puts the Ascension process at the heart of the coming year’s evolutionary directive. So when I talk about completing old lessons and moving into new growth pathways, this birthing of new creative impulses, is connected to the upshift in frequencies linked to infusions of high-frequency light emanating from the sun and the star-fields, now altering human reality, symbolised in part by the Quaoar-Pholus conjunction in Capricorn.
We are not just moving into different versions of the same thing; we are transitioning in frequency of being, and some of us are moving faster up the frequency ladder than others, and this is causing sometimes seismic shifts in our relationships.
This is to say that the personal work is toward leaving an old and familiar frequency of being behind, with its stories and familiar structures, in order to pave the way and make energetic space for entirely new reality expressions, replete with new or more elevated desires, dreams, values, goals and needs.
The new moon energy is fused with Salacia in Aries, and this means that the new higher-self guiding impulses will carry, to some extent, aspects of the new frequency we are individually reaching for. The New Moon is also opposing Makemake in Libra, so on a personal level, part of the new impulse will dovetail with the wisdom of the ancients, which we can access through indigenous spiritual wisdom or accumulated occult knowledge. This may mean that new spiritual practices may arise through the fusion of ancient wisdom and the new quantum science.
The healing of the Feminine is linked to the dissolution of an old reality

Chiron conjunct Eris in Aries makes a semi-sextile to Saturn and T-Wako in Pisces, and a square to Mars in Cancer. Meanwhile Saturn and T-Wako are in close sextile to Uranus, and trine to Mars.
Since Eris entered Aries in 1922, we collectively started to retrieve the lost feminine, which became significantly more energised after her discovery in 2005. We were already elevating the feminine before that, especially since the discovery of the primary asteroids starting with Ceres in 1801 - the first women’s rights convention organised by women took place in 1848. Not surprisingly the return of the Divine Feminine naturally arose through women, but the women’s movement has been but a step of the process we are very much still in, which involves both women and men; all human beings are custodians of masculine and feminine energy.

Eris in particular embodies the dark wounded feminine aspect, and can express sometimes in eruptive and destructive ways, and while Eris has been transiting Aries we are witnessing the rebirth of the True Feminine (1922-2044). Part of this process has required us to work through the shadow to heal the lost and forgotten feminine aspects within ourselves, and with Chiron in conjunction this new moon, this is more activated.
It is worth noting that there were 5 Pluto-Eris squares from Jan 2020 - Oct 2021 during the Covid crisis, rooted in global chaos; our world is certainly not the same as it was before; the Pluto-Eris squares really shook things up and have arguably opened us up to greater potential if we are willing to take the journey.
The Chiron-Eris conjunction, signifying yet more retrieval of the lost feminine principle, dovetails with the Saturn/T-Wako process in Pisces, which in effect links the shadow integration process with healing and forgiveness, while some of the old patriarchal structures (an expression of the False Matrix distortion) dissolve and fall away.
Mars plays a role here by trine, sextile and square: we are learning how to lead more from the feminine mode; it is as if the old way of pushing and driving toward goals and results just isn’t part of the new frequency of being we are moving toward. Mars in Cancer is itself a testament to a reconciliation with a feminine way of moving through life. There is a real sense here of moving away from key patriarchal patterns toward something more balanced.
What does this look like?
It means surrendering more, and releasing the need to figure everything out mentally, in order for the answers to our current questions, problems or desires to emerge from the unity-field
It means becoming more heart-centred, where we move gracefully with trust
This directive toward more heart leadership (away from mental dominance) is further symbolised by Venus and Neptune conjunct the North Node. Through the heart awareness we become more integral in perception; we heal internal division and conflict; we readily become more compassionate and forgiving; we are better able to be in the stillness from which true guidance can be received.
If you are a person who is always busy trying to figure everything out, always striving to stay in control, then I invite you to consider how different your life could be if you were able to stop the struggle, and through trust, allow solutions to emerge without pushing or demanding. This is what the return of the feminine means.
Finally…

Central to the current time is the evolution of structures; this is happening globally. Evolution of this kind is rarely easy or straight forward because we tend to resist; it involves crisis, breakdown, revolution and liberation through a process that is sometimes like a gradual erosion, sometimes more conflicted like attrition (sustained pressure like pebbles against a cliff wall) and sometimes seismic, producing sudden radical shifts.
This month, Saturn is in sextile to Uranus, indicating a stable balance in the way limiting personal patterns are overcome. Uranus is in exact square to Praamzius, which supports all liberation processes with expanded awareness of a higher ordering principle at work in our lives. If we try to cling to patterns and structures that we need to release, it will be a losing battle, which will in the end leave us feeling humbled.
Mars is a significant archetype this month, and in some ways he is the spearhead of the chart. A positive Mars in Cancer is not at all hot headed or impulsive; he is more hesitant and careful, more emotionally engaged and empathic, more tuned in, more caring and internal. His message is to give space for the emotions, to slow down a little, to reflect more this month before taking direct action. Be mindful that strong emotional triggers and insecurities can lead to actions we might later regret.
