Pisces Lunar Eclipse Forecast '24

moon, pisces

Preamble:

Eclipse cycles form part of the astrological clock of unfoldment, initiating energy every six months more or less, and they have long been known since ancient times to herald personal and global developments and sometimes significant change. Total eclipses mark changes in the evolutionary cycle for humanity, and for lunar eclipses there is always a more personal emotional dynamic involved.

The Moon is typically associated with the emotions and thus with the irrational side of human nature and in mundane astrology represents the common people. This makes sense because the rise and fall of emotional energy affects everyone.

The Lunar Eclipse is also a full moon, and it works in a complimentary way with the Solar Eclipse energy wave. While the Solar Eclipse infuses us with creative impulses from the Higher-Self, the preceding or following full moon represents a potential for objective insight and understanding at the ego-personality level. It’s a time when we are more able to take the impulses from the solar eclipse and make them personal through greater awareness.

The last lunar eclipse in March was in the air sign of Libra, as this developmental energy wave quietens, we move into the water sign of Pisces, associated with the collective unconscious, the mystical, the imaginal and the spiritual aspects of being. The next cycle now draws us into deeper waters, where we may be navigating into personal areas that are less concrete and more opaque, highlighting work related to unveiling what is hidden from everyday conscious awareness through heightened sensitivity.

The Pisces Lunar Eclipse is essentially a full moon occurring close to the lunar North Node, about 2 weeks before a Solar Eclipse in Libra. Lunar eclipse energy tends to initiate a shift or adjustment to our lives that impacts our emotional sense of security or identity, and this can influence personal development in ways we are most likely to feel, and have at least some visceral awareness of.

The lunar eclipse waves shed light on emotional evolutionary shifts over a 6 month period, and because the Pisces eclipse is close to the North Node of the moon, the general theme will be orientated to how we progress on our personal evolutionary path. It addition it takes place in the midst of a Virgo lunation wave (see Virgo New Moon Forecast for a baseline context).

This eclipse wave features a Grand Square with the nodes, a Grand Earth Trine and a Yod, with a relatively high degree of oppositions as well, lending energy, tension and challenge to this time period. Where the eclipse moon appears in your natal chart will show where in your life these themes may show up and be felt the most.

So lets take a deeper look at the archetypal themes and opportunities now activating…

Breaking into new life territory may throw up challenges

five arms, five branches, sun

Saturn is currently in square to Jupiter, highlighting evolutionary energy toward breaking out of existing limitations, and expanding into new ways of thinking that can lead us toward a freer and more creative way of life. I cover the Saturn-Jupiter square in an earlier post: Shifting Societies.

Saturn is opposed by Orcus, Mercury and Vesta in Virgo. This archetypal gestalt speaks to a need to use critical thinking and discernment as we navigate forward in life, and deal with the old structure of living and being, now dissolving away. In a social context, with many now disillusioned with the existing national and global systems, we are all energised to put more energy on improving the world around us. For some, this might mean changing job or lifestyle, for others it may manifest as deep self inquiry, as a means to liberate from the patterns of wounding or social conditioning that keep us from evolving and realising greater potential and sovereignty.

The Eclipse Moon is in Pisces in close conjunction with Neptune (the ruler of Pisces), which amplifies the archetype of Neptune within personal evolutionary processes for the next 6 months. This can play out in different ways depending on whether we are embracing change with courage, or resisting change through avoidance and denial. The hazards of Neptune can mire us in delusion, self-deception and escapism; symptoms of fear and resistance based on emotional insecurities, where we can’t easily let go and flow. Change is challenging to the ego, as it makes us feel less in control, and yet there is so much energy driving for awakening and significant change that most of us will be challenged to see things clearly, and deal with life changes, both internal and external, as they arise.

Expanding our sense of Truth is central to this time period

arm, hand, wand, lotus flower, clouds, flames

Jupiter in Gemini is a very active archetype on this eclipse wave; he is the apex of a T-Square, square to the eclipse moon, and trine to Venus in Libra. Our personal ideas about life and reality define the choices we are most likely to make; what we perceive as true is the world we literally see - everything else loses salience; opportunities can be missed. As already mentioned, the Saturn-Jupiter square is stirring up changes in society, as we move into a more Aquarian orientation that is drawn toward more freedom, more equality and fairness in the system; we are collectively becoming less tolerant of the status quo and ready for change. Change, for many of us, starts with ideas - and this might be the main personal growth territory in the coming months, as we attract in new ideas that feel resonant, and which begin to alter our view of what is possible.

Healing and integration continues to be a core evolutionary theme

sun, moon, stars, eagle

There is a very complex energy picture to appreciate:

  • Uranus now begins to activate Sedna in Gemini by conjunction: this will no doubt begin to release repressed memories related to past violations and trauma (including past lives), resulting from the dark side of patriarchy. It will also catalyse an awakening to our personal ‘dharmic calling’ i.e. some will begin to remember more deeply why they are here.

  • Chiron conjunct Eris signifies a call to heal and integrate the wounded and suppressed feminine within all of us. This duo is opposing Venus and making a T-square with Pluto in Capricorn: this integration work will challenge the way we relate to ourselves and others, and we may resist the work. Pluto in Capricorn at the apex (he is now doing his final few months in Capricorn before moving full time into Aquarius in Dec) is throwing up the last issues, and calling us to take responsibility and realise that we have power over how our lives unfold, beyond the socially engineered environment. Pluto highlights the death of patriarchy, and this can only happen when we choose to heal; if we don’t heal the wounding from lifetimes in the False Matrix reality, we won’t be able to truly move on from the patriarchal distortion.

  • The Eclipse Moon conjunct Neptune, makes a sextile to Uranus conjunct Sedna, a Yod with Venus, is square to Jupiter, forms a Kite with the Grand Earth Trine, and is also semi-sextile Chiron and Eris! This eclipse wave has potent energy toward profound levels of personal healing. If we work with this positively, there is real scope of graceful healing through forgiveness; the only way to move forward is to forgive the trials and tribulations of the past.

The Pisces eclipse offers us a means to transcend and reach higher levels of awareness that in turn can turn the tide of deep seated patterns, which up until now have been difficult to overcome or change. The key will be in having enough courage to stick with the process as feelings and insecurities arise; it is so easy to push unwanted emotions back down! We must guard against running away from what we feel through denial, fantasy (where we hide in a white-washed or rose-tinted version of the past or present) or avoidance strategies (addictions). When powerful emergent memories arise that change the storylines or amplify them, the challenge will always be whether we are willing to integrate the new information in ways that upgrade our inner reality.

If this eclipse activates or further energises your own healing process, remember to pay attention to your core essential needs, where even understanding what these needs are, might prove to be difficult when patterns of trauma and abuse have for so long undermined a healthy connection to needs and values. And if it suddenly feels overwhelming, try to penetrate illusions that make you feel like you don’t have the resources to help yourself or ask for help. Venus, as a key archetype where work is most needed, is rooted in self-reliance, resources and the inner-world.

High-frequency energy continues to move us forward

A Grand Cardinal Square featuring Quaoar, Pholus and Ceres square the nodes and opposing Mars in Cancer, now generates a great deal of challenge and tension, pushing us to evolve beyond the patterns of the past. Quaoar in Capricorn represents high frequency transmissions emanating from Source, facilitated by Pholus, to penetrate personal realities in ways that wake us up.

Collectively this is driving a lot of systems change. Ceres in close conjunction, acts as a temporary conveyor of these high frequency energies for the next 6 months, helping to anchor these new energies into the Earth and nature; we may need to mother ourselves as we process. With these archetypes square to the lunar nodes, it generates a lot of energy toward personal evolution and change; we are being stimulated to do things differently than before, while also paying attention to staying harmonised and balanced.

These high frequency energy transmissions although ultimately beneficial for humanity, are also potentially destabilising, because they are inviting us to raise our core vibrations. With Mars in Cancer, this stimulus is bound to make us feel somewhat insecure because we can feel the pull to new horizons and new realities, but we may not know at all where we are headed, or how we are going to get there. It's going to activate a lot of feelings, especially if they have been repressed. At the same time, if we are willing to dive into our feelings and emotions, we can receive psychic information that will help us feel into whatever is awakening within. Asbolus in close conjunction, highlights a capacity to tune into the field and learn to take suitable action on guiding signs, symbols and inputs. The sense here is that we can know, even if we are tempted to ignore what we sense, feel and see.

This Grand Square sets the context for personal healing journeys over the next months; it's all part of the collective ascension of the planet occurring through personal shifts in consciousness.

The spiritual path challenges us to awaken more

feet, labyrinth

For those on an active spiritual path, Orcus in Virgo now opposes Saturn in Pisces, while in a trine to Albion in Taurus. While the personal healing process will continue to be the substance of the spiritual path, without which we can’t progress, we are challenged to overcome the tendency to deconstruct ourselves, unpack endlessly our unresolved stories, and obsess over the need to understand our personal dysfunctions and wounds. Yes we do have to pay attention to this side of things, but we also must maintain a disciplined connection to the universal level of things, otherwise we can forget why we are looking deeply at self - we give ourselves to awakening and in so doing become of greater service to the whole. Spiritual practises may need to change, or we may need to put more attention on them as a way to stay balanced. If we can respond to the need for greater trust in the transcendent, we will optimise both integration and expanded states of being; we may find that nature serves very well as a ‘temple’ for our spiritual practices.

Finally…

Snake medicine - relinquishing old identities

Both the Pisces Lunar Eclipse and the upcoming Libra Solar Eclipse will activate a potent window of time where there will be significant energy to heal and transform our personal stories. My sense is that if we can cultivate courage, founded on heart-knowing, we will be able to make the most of these eclipse waves. The main danger is if we cannot, or will not, deal with the emotional processing now activating, because this type of resistance can lead to illness in the physical body. Far better to surrender more and agree to cooperate with the universal ascension energies. This is a time to talk about our stories; to share with trusted others, elements of our personal journeys, and to support each other as and when we can. Everyone is going to feel the intensity of these two eclipse waves, because we are at the stage of the collective process that is now more actively engaged with processing the toxicity of the False Matrix patriarchal distortion. There is a profound breakdown of the old order; the old ways of being human on the planet that have been with us for at least the last 16,000 years, and it helps to appreciate just how many lifetimes we may have been incarnating during this dark epoch in the human evolutionary journey on Earth. So many of us are being moved and motivated to embrace real change, and this archetypal theme has been active for about 2 years already, with momentum building. It is an exciting time, especially since in recent years it's felt so difficult globally with the battle between the dark and light forces expressing through us. There is much inner work to do for most of us at this time, and yet we are now on the threshold of real tangible changes, which I feel are just around the corner.
